Les
Equipment Operator, Trainer & Certification Advocate
I've spent over two decades operating heavy equipment on job sites across Canada — excavators, cranes, loaders, you name it. I've held NCCER credentials, trained green operators from scratch, and watched the industry evolve (and stall) in real time.
Les is More started because I kept having the same conversations. Operators asking why their certification didn't translate across provinces. Supervisors wondering why freshly credentialed hires still couldn't read a load chart. Safety managers frustrated that the training industry hadn't caught up to the equipment.
This site is my attempt to cut through the noise. No sponsored content. No vendor relationships. Just direct, experience-backed writing on what actually matters in construction equipment training and certification.
I write about certification pathways, pre-shift inspection standards, crane operations, and the gap between what training programs teach and what the job demands. If you've ever felt like the industry was making things harder than they need to be — you're in the right place.
Why this site exists
"The gap between a credential and competence is where accidents happen. I write to close that gap."
Construction equipment training in Canada is fragmented, inconsistent, and often disconnected from real job-site demands. Les is More exists to give operators, trainers, and safety professionals a straight-talking resource — one that respects their experience and doesn't waste their time.
